Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Discipline leader

    You will join our Geo Structures department
    As our new Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be part of a growing team focused on delivering challenging ground engineering schemes that support and enable the construction of new railways, ports, renewable energy facilities, highways, and high-quality new buildings. We also advise clients on the impact of new work on the existing natural and man-made environment to enable new projects to proceed sustainably and safely. Our team comprises engineers who are experts in their field, and they will guide and develop your career as you add new skills to those you bring to Geo Structures.

    We are looking for a discipline lead who can be client-facing, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and excel in planning and executing projects. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

    • Leading geotechnical tasks on medium to large projects
    • Interfacing with clients and other stakeholders (internal and external)
    • Providing advice and design to a multi-disciplinary project team, focusing on technical geotechnical delivery for projects or sections of large infrastructure schemes
    • Planning and conducting analysis of geotechnical structures using various proprietary tools
    • Guiding less experienced engineers to deliver analysis and design
    • Providing new ideas or approaches to ground engineering challenges
    • Carrying out research and development of new ideas and products to enable Ramboll to provide sustainable solutions for society
    • Assisting in marketing our skills to identify and secure exciting new projects and contracts that build on our existing industry and market relationships

    As an engineer on our team, you'll also have the opportunity to collaborate with our colleagues in tunnel engineering and contribute to world-renowned projects such as the Femernbælt, Fehmarnsund, and Dreilinden IMT tunnel projects, along with many more in the pipeline. Additionally, projects such as Marselis, M4, and large German railway projects are also being delivered through our team and colleagues.

    Your starting point for constant growth
    From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:

    • A minimum of 10 years working experience
    • A good quality BEng degree with reasonable geotechnical engineering or engineering geology content
    • A master’s degree or higher focusing on geotechnical engineering or engineering geology would be beneficial
    • Experience in leading and carrying out multi-disciplinary projects from a geotechnical point of view
    • Proven ability to carry out complex analyses of retaining structures or complex foundations
    • Experience in rock engineering and/or geo-seismic engineering would be an advantage
    • Written and oral communication skills in Danish are beneficial for this role but not essential
    • Good written and oral communication skills in English
    • Good appreciation of the commercial controls needed to deliver work in a manner that meets our business objectives
